USGS Leetown Science Center to Host Earth Day Open House

The day’s events will include hands-on-exhibits, demonstrations about fish, and tours of the facility.
Demonstrations will highlight fish health and life histories, showcase a living experimental stream, cover methods for early detection and defense against invasive species, and discuss how Leetown research is used to support conservation and restoration of fish species and their habitats from streams to deepwater ocean coral communities. USGS scientists will also provide an overview of the research conducted at Leetown, which is used by decision makers to sustainably manage the region’s recreational and commercial fisheries.
