Apple Fest returns to Boonsboro

Special demonstrations, activities and bake sales will highlight the return of Apple Fest to the Washington County Rural Heritage Museum on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Sales of apples, apple goods and homemade apple dumplings will take place throughout the afternoon.

The family event is free, but donations are accepted.

Linwood Taylor and Kelly Bell Band coming to Buddy Lou’s

Buddy Lou’s Eats, Drinks and Antiques in Hancock will host the legendary Linwood Taylor and the famous Kelly Bell Band play on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 3 p.m.

Linwood’s style is in the vein of Muddy Waters, Albert King and Jimi Hendrix, while his resume includes appearances with King, Joe Louis Walker, Skip Castro and Devon Allman.

Blues Revue Magazine describes the Kelly Bell Band as “Among the most genre-expanding acts on today’s blues scene. Who else can combine elements of hip-hop, funk, and blues-electrified here.” Originally formed as the back-up band for rock and roll pioneer, Bo Diddley, the Kelly Bell Band has been touring the world ever since entertaining fans in Japan, Spain, Italy, Greece, Cuba, Germany and more.

The band has won two prestigious Maryland Music Awards, including Best Blues Band.

Kelly Bell, known as “The Bluesman,” is joined by vocalist Rahsaan “Wordslave” Eldridge, guitarists Ryan Fowler and Eric Robinson, Frankie Hernandez (bass), John Robert Buell (drums) and Dane Paul Russell (harmonica).

Savannah Jack bringing its nationally-known sounds to Waynesboro

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — As part of its second successful tour with Live On Stage, Savannah Jack is coming to Waynesboro Area Senior High School’s Oyer Auditorium on Sunday, Oct. 20, at 3 p.m.

From traveling throughout the Caribbean as a headline act on Royal Caribbean Cruise Line to opening for Peter Frampton, John Fogerty, Vince Gill, The Doobie Brothers, Lady Antebellum and the legendary Kenny Rogers, Savannah Jack has honed its skills as outstanding live entertainers who captivate audiences from the very first note. This group of seasoned musicians combines their individual styles to create the unique Savannah Jack sound.

Embarking on their second successful tour with Live On Stage, Savannah Jack is bringing audiences a brand new show that features country, pop and rock party hits that everyone will love.

The Waynesboro Community Concert Association is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization which has presented world-acclaimed live entertainment to the Waynesboro area since 1936. Each year, the WCCA has featured an array of genres including Broadway, classical, folk, pop and jazz.

Single tickets are $25 at the door and online at www.waynesboropaconcerts.org. Subscriptions for the 2019-2020 Season are available for purchase for $55, and include reciprocal performances by Gettysburg, Pa., and Hagerstown concert associations. Students K-12 will be admitted for free, with those in K-8 accompanied by an adult. The remainder of the 2019-2020 season features performance by Waking Up In America (Nov. 3), Trio Pacheco (April 19, 2020) and Thomas Pandolfi (May 3, 2020). All concerts are on Sundays at 3 p.m.
