Free Thanksgiving meals in the Tri-State area

The following groups are offering free Thanksgiving meals in the Tri-State area. To submit a listing, send it to calendar@whatsnxt.com.

• Fulton Precision Industries Inc., is sponsoring a free community Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, Nov. 22, at McConnellsburg Alumni Community Building, 301 E. Maple St., McConnellsburg, Pa. To register, call 717-485-5158 by Thursday, Nov. 15.

• The 24th annual free senior citizen’s Thanksgiving dinner is from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Wilson Ruritan Club, 16204 National Pike, west of Hagerstown. To help or for more information, call 301-223-9561.

• Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, at 134 S. Main St. in Boonsboro, will host a free community meal from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, in its Family Life Center. A Thanksgiving feast will be served, including turkey, stuffing balls, mashed potatoes, green beans, sauerkraut, gravy, cranberry sauce, desserts and drinks. The site is handicap-accessible from the street entrance or the back parking lot preschool entrance. Call 301-432-8741.

• The annual free Moose Lodge Thanksgiving Community Meal is at 119 N. Conococheague St., Wiliamsport, from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18. Meal includes turkey, stuffing, gravy, corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, dinner roll, choice of dessert, and choice of tea or lemonade. Call 301-223-7072.

• The Shepherdstown Community Club’s before Thanksgiving dinner will be Tuesday, Nov. 20. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. with drinks and appetizers at the War Memorial Building, 102 E. German St., Shepherdstown, W.Va. Chef Carol Ann Sanders designed a Chinese menu that includes Master Sauce Chicken, Glass Noodles and Spinach, Red Bell Peppers with Garlic Rice, Pan-fried Scallion Bread, and dessert. A vegetarian option is also available.

The evening’s entertainment will feature Sam Jannotta, owner of Shepherdstown School of Music, and his students.

• Shepherdstown Community Thanksgiving is at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at New Street United Methodist Church, 202 W. New Street, Shepherdstown, W.Va. A reception will follow the meal with the Shepherdstown Middle School band and Shepherdstown Elementary School chorus.

A Thanksgiving offering will benefit Caring Cupboard and Jefferson County Community Ministries. The event is sponsored by Shepherdstown Ministerial Association. For more information call 304-876-2362, or email nsumc@frontiernet.net.

• Boonsboro Bible Church is hosting a free community Thanksgiving dinner from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, in the fellowship hall at 6741 Old National Pike. Takeout meals will be available. Call 301-432-6154.

• A free Thanksgiving meal is from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, at Williamsport United Methodist Church, 25 E. Church St., in Williamsport.

• A free community Thanksgiving dinner is from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 141 S. Potomac St., in downtown Hagerstown.

n A free community Thanksgiving dinner is from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, at Robert W. Johnson Community Center, 109 W. North Ave., Hagerstown. Volunteers are welcome, and donations may be made by Wednesday, Nov. 21. Call 301-790-0203.

• Thanksgiving dinner will be served at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, at The Trinity Center off Walnut St., Hagerstown. The event is hosted by The Hope Center at Hagerstown Rescue Mission. Menu includes turkey and all the trimmings. Games and activities will begin at 11 a.m. Call 301-739-1165.

• Martinsburg Union Rescue Mission, 602 W. King St., in Martinsburg, W.Va., will host a free Thanksgiving at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22. Call 304-263-6901.

• Harvest Lighthouse Ministries is hosting a free Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, at the Martinsburg Moose Lodge 120, 201 Woodbury Ave., in Martinsburg, W.Va. Email harvestlighthouse@gmail.com or call 304-671-4275.

• Smithsburg Community Thanksgiving Meal is from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 16 N. Main St., Smithsburg. A traditional Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings and dessert will be served. For more information, or homebound meal delivery, call 301-824-7460.

• First United Methodist Church of Mercersburg, 11 N. Fayette St., Mercersburg, Pa., is having a free Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22. Delivery is available for residents of the Tuscarora School District who are elderly or physically unable to attend the meal.

Call or text 717-328-9726 and leave the number of dinners requested and address for delivery. Volunteers will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, in the fellowship hall to begin meal preparations.

• Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 802 Summit Ave., Hagerstown, will host a free Thanksgiving meal at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22.

The dinner will include all the trimmings. Elvis tribute artist Kevin Booth will provide musical entertainment during the meal.
