Pumpkin picking across the Tri-State area

Want to pick your own pumpkin? The Tri-State area offers many options. Here are a few locations where the pumpkins will soon be ripe for the picking. 

Maryland 

Washington County

Hagerstown Corn Maze at Celebration Farm: Pumpkin patch-pick in the field, corn maze, snacks and refreshment stand. Location: 17638 Garden View Road, Hagerstown. Phone: 301-393-4377. Open weekends in October (Fridays, 5 to 10 p.m.; Saturdays, noon to 10 p.m.; and Sundays, noon to 5 p.m.)

Linden Hall Farm: Many varieties of apples, pumpkins, gourds, winter squash and other produce. Location: 10224 Downsville Pike, Hagerstown. Phone: 301-582-4884. Open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Closed Sundays.

Misty Meadow Farm Creamery: 8-acre corn maze and activities, including petting farm, rope mazes, corn box, peddle tractors, weekend hayrides, pumpkin picking and flashlight mazes. Corn maze is open through Nov. 4, Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday, 1 to 7 p.m. Location: 14325 Misty Meadow Road, Smithsburg. Frederick County

Brookfield Pumpkins: Pumpkins, hayrides, pick-your-own pumpkin patch, corn maze. Location: 8302 Ramsburg Road, Thurmont, Md. Phone: 301-898-3527. Those who visit Brookfield Pumpkins on a Monday through Thursday can walk or drive down to the patch. Visitors on Friday to Sunday can take one of the free hayrides that run every 15 minutes.

Catoctin Mountain Orchard: Pumpkins for sale. Location: U.S. 15, 15036 North Franklinville Road, Thurmont. Phone: 301-271-2737. 

Crumland Farms Pumpkins: Pumpkins for sale in the shop or farmstand, pumpkin patch-pick in the field, fall festival, corn maze, haunted corn maze, tractor-pulled hayrides, haunted house, petting zoo, farm animals. Location: 7612 Willow Road, Frederick, Md. Phone: 301-845-8099. 

Glade Link Farms: Pumpkin-patch tours. Location: Md. 194, New Midway, Md. Phone: 301-898-7131. Call for appointments. Only given during fall season.  

Fall Fun Festival at Gaver Farm: Corn maze, pumpkins, pumpkin patch-pick in the field, or choose from those already gathered from the field, straw or hay-bale maze, child-sized hay-bale maze, tractor-pulled hayrides, wagon rides, snacks and refreshment stand, face painting, petting zoo and farm animals. Location: 5501 Detrick Road, Mt. Airy, Md. Phone: 301-865-3515. Fall Fun Festival with corn maze open through Nov. 4 ,10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.  

Green Meadows: Petting farm and pumpkin patch – already gathered from the field, tractor-pulled hayrides, gift shop, snacks and refreshment stand, petting zoo and farm animals. Location: 10102 Fingerboard Road, Ijamsville, Md. Phone: 800-799-1166.  

Jumbo’s Pumpkin Patch at Homestead Farms: Pumpkins, hayrides, 15-acre pick-your-own pumpkin patch, petting zoo, corn maze, pony rides and more. Location: 6521 Holter Rd, Middletown, Md. Phone: 301-371-6874  

Lawyer’s Winterbrook Farms: Pumpkins for sale in the shop or farmstand, pumpkin patch-pick in the field where they grow, fall festival, cow train/barrel train rides, corn maze, goat walk, tractor-pulled hayrides, farm market, concessions/refreshment stand, ziplines, pedal kart track and farm animals. Pumpkin Patch at Mayne’s: Pumpkin patch, corn maze, hayrides, moon bounce, pumpkin slingshot Location: 3420 Buckeystown Pike (Md. 85S), Buckeystown, Md. Phone: 301-662-4320.  

Scenic View Orchards: Pumpkins, wagon rides (free), horse-drawn hayrides (fee). Location: 16239 Sabillasville Road (Md. 550 North), Sabillasville, Md. Phone: 301-271-2149.  

Summers Farm: Pumpkins for sale in the shop or farmstand, pumpkin patch-pick in the field, or choose from those already gathered from the field, fall festival, cow train/barrel train rides, corn maze, straw or hay-bale maze, corn cannon, pig races, tractor-pulled hayrides, wagon rides. Pennsylvania

Franklin County

Stoner’s Hijos Hill Inc. Dairy Farm: Corn maze, petting zoo, hayrides, pumpkins, corn cannon and more. Location: 7678 Oellig Road, Mercersburg, Pa. Phone: 717-328-3617. Open: Through Sunday, Nov. 4, on Saturdays from noon to 10 pm; Sundays, noon to 5 p.m.; last admission no later than 4:30 p.m.   

West Virginia
