Chatty Chameleon language and robotics camps

Activities offered: Chatty Chameleon offers an exciting selection of language and robotics camps for kids of all ages! In each language camp, participants will learn basic phrases, vocabulary and simple conversational skills in a fun and interactive way! Because the camps are based on a theme, these camps are perfect for beginners or for children who already have some language experience. In our robotics camp, participants will learn how to build and program a robot to complete various challenges. Camps include: Journey to the Rain Forest (Spanish), Adventure in Space (Spanish), It’s a Small World (Spanish, French, Italian, German, Japanese), Under the Sea (Spanish), Under the Sea (French), Robotics.

Archaeology Camp  

Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. - July 22- July 26. Participate in a hands-on archaeological excavation effort at the historic site of the Saylor House in Kiwanis Park by Antietam Creek. This program is in partnership with Washington County Historical Trust and Little Antietam Creek, Inc. $99/5 days. 

Hula Hoop Camp 

Monday-Friday, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. - July 29 - Aug. 2. Learn warm-up practices, basics of hooping, games and tricks. Make your own Hula Hoop and learn to twirl & toss. Hook-making materials included. Bring a snack and water bottle. Wear comfy clothes. $150/5 days. 

Ninja Warrior Parkour Camp 

Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. - July 15- July 19. Use props and natural elements to master tumbling, vaulting, jumping and more. Ages 9-14. $308/5 days. 

Wilderness Survival Camp 

Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. - July 8-12 Ages 6-9 years. Ages 10-14 years. Learn how to build shelters, stone tools and fires; track animals; identify useful plants; safely navigate and survive in the wilderness. City Park. $308/5 days.

Activities offered:  College for Kids is a summer day camp at Hagerstown Community College where kids and teens will discover the magic of science, creative writing, engineering, cooking, computer programming, musical theater, and more! Of the nearly 100 camps offered, more than 20 are new this summer. Camps are led by highly qualified instructors in a small class setting with an emphasis on hands-on, interactive learning experiences. Camps include The World of Harry Potter, Good Eats: Head Chefs, Amazing Adventures with Magic Tree House, ACT Prep, Wicked: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road, Backyard Ballistics, Comics Collide: Marvel vs. DC, Mad Scientist, Creative Photography, Chocolate World, Graphic and Web Design, Vex Robotics, and many others.

Activities offered: Our art camp will concentrate on teaching art, as well as a strong emotional connection. Through drawing and painting exercises, the kids will be challenged to express how creating makes them feel. Creating art is a true self-esteem builder. Drawing skills will be taught by using shapes, then by observational skill building. Painting is always very popular with the children. We will explore acrylic and watercolor painting. We will also do a day of fluid acrylic pouring, one of the latest new art trends.
