The American Symphony
Premiered 126 years ago upon Dvořák’s arrival in the U.S., his Ninth Symphony is emblematic of a foreigner’s portrayal of the life and times of early America. Experience a perfect collision of folk tunes and gypsy flavor from Dvořák’s native Bohemia and his impressions of an exciting turn-of-the-century life in the “New World.” The first half of the concert features the MSO performing a fanfare composed by Kimo Williams and Price's Symphony No. 1 in E minor. K-12 students are eligible to attend "The American Symphony" for FREE. Event Cost: $14-$74. For more information, contact Michael Harp at 301-797-4000 or email marylandsymphony.org.
