Middleburg/Mason-Dixon Line Historical Society

The Middleburg/Mason-Dixon Line Historical Society will meet on Thursday, April 18, at 7 p.m. Guest speaker, Leon Reed, is a former U.S. Senate staff member, defense consultant, and U.S. history teacher, an author of books and articles on U.S. military history, and works at the Jennie Wade House Museum.  The program will be "Stories the Monuments Tell: A Photo Tour of Gettysburg."  Reed will discuss the monuments of Gettysburg and the stories they tell about heroism, mourning lost comrades, sorrow, and other sentiments.  Most of the Union monuments were designed by veterans around the time of the 25th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg.  Visit www.middleburgmasondixon.org.
